While I was reading in the World Finance magazin, they have mention the names of the 25 people shaping tomorrow's world of Middle East Business, and I will fill out for you the number 1 because we was talking in course about Dubai and it could be interresting point for you

1- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, is the ruler of Dubai, whose vision is fuelling the frenetic development of the city and spurring the transformation of the gulf. He is also Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, of which Dubai in one emirate. Sheikh Mohammed owes his wealth to oil, but conscious that the reserves on his patch of land are relatively small, he has broadened the economic base into property, ports and airports, leisure and financial services. Sheikh Mohammed heads the list because he is powerful, influential and rich. However, it is his role as the catalyst for change in the region that sets him apart.
Sheikh Mohammed appears acutely aware of the opportunities, and more willing than most to combat threats that have prompted other Middle East leaders to impede, or halt, the process of reform.

Social Businessman
A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change. Whereas business entrepreneurs typically measure performance in profit and return, social entrepreneurs assess their success in terms of the impact they have on society. While social entrepreneurs often work through nonprofits and citizen groups, many work in the private and governmental sectors.

Article of strategies and growth of the company,

During I was looking and trying to look out and reading on the internet about the stategies and growth of the company I find out and it took my attention an article i see that it could maybe be usefull for some of you in class so here i will try to resume it and fill out the only important points in it :

Sustainable Growth Strategies
"Be everywhere, do everything and never fail to astonish the customer."

Two Components of Sustainable Growth Strategy
Sustainable business growth strategy is a practical approach to achieving top-line growth and bottom-line results.

8 Best Practices of Successful Companies
1.Manage processes, not people. Focus not on what they do, but on how they do it.
2.Use techniques (like "process mapping" and "benchmarking") to achieve continuous improvement.
3.Value incremental gains.
4.Measure performance by customer satisfaction.
5.Introduce new products faster that the competition.
6.Design new products for efficient manufacture.
7.Treat suppliers and customers as partners.
8.Manage inventory in superior fashion.

Case in Point: Google

Google is the Internet’s number one search engine today. What is the reason for their remarkable success? It’s beta testing and market learning. They launched a less than perfect service into the market place to get market feedback. Feedback is the key to dominating a market. It also makes great business sense. Google's competitors were trying to perfect a product by themselves separate from their target market as Google was continuously and rapidly upgrading their original beta version by listening to the customer. They strived to achieve harmony with the reality.

Role of Enterprise Strategy

Successful companies are those that focus their efforts strategically. Strategy should be a stretch exercise, not a fit exercise. To meet and exceed customer satisfaction, the business team needs to follow an overall organizational strategy. A successful strategy adds value for the targeted customers over the long run by consistently meeting their needs better than the competition does.

Strategy is the way in which a company orients itself towards the market in which it operates and towards the other companies in the marketplace against which it competes. It is a plan an organization formulates to gain a sustainable advantage over the competition. The central strategic issue: why different companies, facing the same environment, perform differently.

Strategy answers the following questions:
*what are the sources of the company's sustainable competitive advantage?
*how a company will position itself against competition in the market over the long run to secure a sustainable competitive advantage?
*what are the key strategic priorities?

Strategy is an agreed-on guide to action that should lead business to success in the marketplace by satisfying customer needs better than the competition does. Strategy formulation is the major task for the company entrepreneur and CEO, but it is the task of middle managers and project managers to carry this strategy out and turn it into results.

So I fill out for you the important points that attract my attention about the important points about the strategies and growth of the company so I can say that i can resume out 3 or 4 important points that could explain my point of view of a succefull sastainable company:
1- Being always up to day with the market and with your product
2- Motivate your partners
3- Appreciate everything your associate do for your business
4- Listen to everyone in your company and get them talking

Second part of the Final Exam

1-Social sharing sites its an online technologies practices that people could share opinions, insights, experiences and perspectives with each other.
Social sharing sites can take also many different forms, including text, images, audio, DVD, video clips.
Popular Social sites include blogs, message boards and as I was searching on the net to an examples of sharing sites I found out the following ex:
- My space
- You tube
- Seconde life
- Digg
- Flickr
- Miniclip
- Face book
- Friendster
And for those that would like to see and share opinions I link also this 2 sites that I found one could be cute and other one could interest some of you :
http://www.webstorming.fr/?tag/webtv
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6194929.stm

2-I beleive and I am one of them, that most of consumer's choices beleive what other experiences said, and not attract too much by advertising and publicity.
For example it will never be the same when somebody is just listening to the pub or some of the sharing idea and experiences is telling and speaking about his all experience that he did.
And as all of us now know that most of customer's is searching confidence, low prices, and they want to really trust any company that they are going to book or paying her there money.
So for them on our days now the most important is good tacticta and opinions as publicity and just TV market.
And as i was looking over the internet i saw that most of the customers now are looking what they are really interesting and what do they like and what they dont like and what they know what they are looking for.And if u like to know more about it just have a look on this article:
http://www.technewsworld.com/perl/section/social-networking/

3-If we all look these social sharing sites we all see a one commun point that all of them we dont need to pay money , most of them are easy to use, and at my opinion it reach the need of all the visitors and customers and what they are loking for.
And also the most important point for the hoteliers to best utilize social sharing trends to communicate with customers is first always being up to date, always put new informations online, and also looking at what customers are commenting like this they will be able to always give the good service for them.
And here I have an example For you:
http://www.socialnetworking-weblog.com/50226711/sharing_your_videos_finding_videos.php

4-Yes sure that hotels effectively should always establish an online conversation with customers, because at my opinion its a quid pro quo and this expression mean: you gave me this I gave you that.
I am saying this because both need to work with each other and both they are waiting something. And the hotel that he is giving something ship and easy for the customers is also waiting that this client buy it and be in his hotel.
So this is the BUZINESS that the two part are looking for
and I shoose for you to look out this online hotel offer:

Americans stress importance of eco-friendly travel
FROM HOTELMARKETING

Travelers are reassessing how they travel, where they stay and the impact they leave behind when on vacation, according to the Orbitz survey.

With over two-thirds (67%) of Americans placing importance on the eco-friendliness of a destination, this market segment has a growing future ahead of it.

Conducted by MarketTool’s Zoomerang’s polling service, the Orbitz survey highlights that:

- More than half (65%) state it would somewhat impact their decision to stay at a hotel if they knew the hotel was using solar or wind energy to supplement the powering of the building.

- A strong majority (63%) state they would pay a little more to rent a hybrid vehicle or stay at a “green” hotel.

- More than half (52%) of Americans state they would be willing to donate a small portion of their vacation budget to help save the environment when booking a trip.

I THINK IT COULD A VERY GOOD IDEA BECAUSE LIKE THIS IT COULD REALLY HELP TRAVELLERS HOW TO TRAVEL WHERE AND BEEING EASYER FOR THEM;

Revenue Management and Packaging Strategy By Gabor Forgacs and Hoffer Lee
www.hotelmarketing.org

A current study was undertaken to develop a better understanding how hotels utilize the revenue management strategy of value added packaging. The following is a summary of the key findings.

What is Packaging?
If a hotel offers other products and services bundled together with room nights we call it a package.

Package of Internal Components
One way to bundle items together into a package is to use only internal components. That means: each item is produced and controlled by the hotel offering the package.

Package with External Components
Another way to bundle items together would be a mix of internal and external components.

The Objective of Packaging
Hotels in different markets use packaging for different purposes but there is one common element: the fundamental purpose of packaging is to create the perception of value.

Packaging and Segmentation
Leisure travelers find different packages attractive than business travelers. If a hotel has a well defined approach to segmentation, customized packaging is the most effective for targeting a specific market segment.

Revenue Streams Management
It is important for hotels to identify the profitability of each component in a given package.

Conclusion
There is a tremendous potential in value added packaging. From the guests’ perspective we see a preference for one-stop shopping (driver: convenience) and inclusiveness (driver: value). From the service providers’ perspective value added packaging is a well invested effort that helps generate more revenue, boost occupancy and maximize profitability of hotels.
